2015-2016
After four years working in the consumer-facing world of marketing in the luxury watch industry, I decided I needed to take a deep dive into the theoretical world of media studies. I picked a 2-years master program titled “New Media & Digital Culture” at the faculty of humanities at Utrecht University. There I gained a far deeper understanding of the dynamics at play in the media realm. I sharpened my critical thinking skills and discovered frameworks and methodologies that offer me a rare strategic edge in all my creative endeavours today, even though I decided to drop out of the program before completing my thesis.

While physics and mechanical engineering were fascinating fields of study, I eventually realized that my center of interest was shifting towards further understanding the complex planet we live on. I transitioned from my mechanical engineering studies to pursue a Bachelor degree in Environment Sciences at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). During this 3-year program, I’ve studied fascinating scientific fields such as geophysics, ecology, geology or mineralogy. Above all the science I could absorb, the most impactful and transformative knowledge I gained was to read and grasp the work of pioneering authors about the foundations of the environmental consciousness among the human race.

Fresh out of highschool, the only thing I could ever imagine doing had to do with building things or at least understanding how things work. I was naturally drawn into engineering studies and chose to enroll in the Mechanical Engineering program at the Polytechnical School of Lausanne (EPFL). During the 3-years I spent in this program, I acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills in fundamental fields such as physics, mathematics or chemistry. Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete the program and thus don't hold a formal engineering degree today. However, I value immensely how the problem solving skills I gained have allowed me to think as an engineer ever since.
